A Place for All to Gather

Azafrán opened September 2004. Since then, it has grown to become a destination on the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus, for a light breakfast and a healthy and delicious lunch. 

Our dining room is buzzing each day with academics and technicians, including astronomers and astrophysicists, art historians, anthropologists, linguists, biologists, mathematicians, all discussing their current projects, gathering for a break from their research, dialoguing between disciplines, in every language. Azafrán is an atmosphere of inspiration and nourishment, for the body and the mind.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Practices

Azafrán is the winner of the first “Green Partner of the Year" Award from the JHU Office of Sustainability

Azafrán has been committed to a healthier, cleaner environment since its opening day. Porcelain and glass are used in the dining room. All compostable materials are used for our take-out packaging. We have not carried plastic water bottles in 10 years.

We now partner with the Space Telescope Science Institute and Johns Hopkins University to further pursue community efforts to become even greener in every possible way.

 


OUR TEAM

Our staff is very kind, well mannered and upbeat. We understand the importance of good customer relations and that a positive attitude is as important as the knowledge of the food trade. We to create work conditions that will instill such a positive attitude. Meet our fantastic team!
